Alison has always drawn, painted and made, always been absorbed by lines, intriguing shapes, and colour that resonates. She is interested by the changing nature of seasons, the excitement of colours flashing and fleeting and glowing, rainy squalls and winter trees, people in their environments, and the abstract nature of art.

A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Alison taught secondary school and adult education art classes, while combining other work and family. Based near Wigton and working from a small studio, showing work in several galleries in Cumbria and Scotland.
