Kim works in a variety of media but specialises in the use of the cyanotype process. Informed by her degree in Textiles and Surface Design, Kim explores a striking but easily accessible, historical print technique that can be applied both to paper and fabric.
Each print is unique, using rare Cumbrian sunlight and found natural forms, together with hand drawn and photographic elements to create ethereal, illustrative images in shades of blue and white.
Kim's works often includes intricate hand embroidered details to add colour, texture and a focus on interpretations of “stitch” - to create, mend, secure and embellish. Kim’s studio space is in Braithwaite, near Keswick, where she teaches workshops and welcomes visitors by appointment. Use Kim's website link below to find out more.
