After a career in information analysis and IT, Roger began printmaking in 2015. He discovered the fun of cutting lino, etching and inking plates and sometimes, the pleasure of seeing the resulting image emerge from the press.

Based in Kentmere, Roger produces reduction linocuts, occasional etchings and recently watercolours. These reflect his experiences walking in mountain regions and by the coast throughout the UK, Europe and Japan.

“I have always been fascinated by the basic elements of mountains and coastlines – rock faces, fissures and strata, snow and ice, cliffs and stacks. Many of my prints attempt to capture how these elements build into overall landscapes. Some of my prints also reflect the organic structures of garden trees and the details of historic buildings.“
